We are Tulgey Beat
Tulgey Beat is a seven-piece genre-mashing groove machine based in Berlin. Tulgey Beat pulls together influences from across the globe - including jazz, afrobeat, and rock. The band is made up of some of the top musicians in Berlin's rich and international musical community. We specialise in original dance-floor filling songs, clashing and mutating influences to bring a fresh and powerful sound.
Bio
Tulgey Beat was founded in 2020 by British guitarist George Birkett and Israeli bassist Or Rozenfeld. At the time they both felt a desire for a groove-oriented band focused on filling the dance floor. George’s influences came from a love of music from the African diaspora and jazz music. Or is involved in modern jazz, funk, rock and middle eastern music. The addition of a horn section of trumpet, tenor sax, baritone sax plus a rock-solid drummer and percussionist duo completed the 7-piece line-up and Tulgey Beat (formerly WhatsFISH) was born.

Tulgey Beat released their first single and music video Dog’s Dinner in November 2021 and quickly followed that up with an EP in March 2022. The band plans to record more in 2023 and has a constant stream of new original material.

Tulgey Beat has gained a fervent fanbase in its home town of Berlin and specialises in putting on vibrant and raucous shows within this creative melting pot of a scene. We are currently looking to fill up the diary with concerts and bring its danceable sound to wider audiences.
